A CSL Licensee who renews a license or is issued a first time license on or after July 1, 2011.
Licensee has continuing education requirements within 2 years after
this renewal date.
Example: John Smith renews his license on July 1, 2011. His next
renewal is on July 1, 2013.
Is he required to comply with continuing education requirements?
Yes...If your license renewed after July 1, 2011, you can take your CSL continuing education classes.
Reason: You are now in your 2 year renewal cycle. You have 24 months to take your classes from the date you renewed your license...

Licensee has continuing education requirement after their next 2 year
renewal date.
Example: John Smith renews his license on June 30, 2011. He next
renews on June 30, 2013. Is he required to comply with continuing
education requirements? No, a full two-year cycle has not been completed
since the July 1, 2011 Massachusetts continuing education implementation
date.
He is required to comply with continuing education requirements after
his June 30, 2013 renewal date.
Reason: A full two year cycle has to pass before the continuing
education requirement is needed for a licensee.
